Views please.With the twelfth teenage murder this year in London, what does society have to do to end/reduce this problem?
Elect a government that has a backbone and will enforce the laws in place to deal with the yob culture, take away their rights as handed to them by the PC brigade and those who continue to break the law be tough with them and abolish early release from prison.

This is so sad for the family concerned. We remember their grief in our thoughts.


There are, as always, no easy answers to why young people have to be this way, especially at a time when the opportunities in education and self improvement are


available to young men as never before.


Perhaps there is a ';rage';these kids have that older folk are not receiving and responding to. No use blaming drugs alone or knife culture for this. I think it is the dead end these people see ahead of them. And a society that is not really bothered about the next youthful statistic.


Do we have a charismatic personality that could inspire young people? Anyone?
We need to get back to a society where nobody hands are tied by the 'PC Brigade! The Government should operate a zero tolerance policy - and use it! Teenagers know that they are pretty much 'untouchable' nowadays and have no respect. Respect should be instilled into a child as they growing up in the home by the parents. You also have to ask where the hell are the parents when their children are hanging about on street corners at all hours causing trouble?








EDIT - CC, So all single mothers who have 2 children should be sterilized should they? Well as of January this year, through NO fault of my own, I became a single mum with 2 children!!!! I take it you also meant to put that single DADS should ALSO be snipped? or you just being ignorant towards single mums!!. I work full time whilst my mum has the children for me after school until i get home at 5pm. I would rather have some self respect and work for my own money than sit on my lazy a r s e and let others pay for their keep! My children have plenty of respect and always use manners. I find you comment not harsh but pathetically insulting and extremely ignorant. I hope that one day you are not in my position because your children's dad has cheated on you then left after 7 years!!!!
I've been reading a lot about this kind of thing in the UK. I don't mean to be sarcastic but from all the negative things I've read about the US, I'm surprised that other countries have crime. I thought it only was here that those kind of things happened. People are constantly dishing dirt on the US. Try looking in your own backyard before you dish the dirt on others. And I might add, that goes for people here in the US also that dish the dirt on others.





I live in the city and all we hear are negative things about our city. I work in the suburbs and hear of domestic violence, robberies, car thefts, etc. our here all the time. I'm always like ';oh my, that happened in Amherst? I didn't think things like that happened out here';.





No matter where it happens, it's not right. I agree with the one answer, tit for tat. You murder someone, you die.
Dang. i feel sorry for those kids that died so young. What society needs is better role models like Martin Luther King, Oprah, Mariah Carey. The stand for what is right.





Not these other people that only sing about sex and violence, and making an image that it is cool to be in gangs. I dislike rappers or however that sing about that stuff and show it on TV.


And if someone is suspected in drugs and murder then take them away. Put those low lives in jail.
I think that we should all be taking greater personal responsibility for what goes on in our families and our communities.


Instead of the usual ';they'; should do something, we should all be saying ';what can I do to make my family/community better?';


As long as we continue to look the other way, ignore wrong-doing , or simply avoid getting involved, we are contributing to the problems.


What goes unchallenged grows!

Is it any wonder we are breeding a generation of ferral


children who take drugs, use knives and guns.


Go right back and sort out the family and family values.

Harsh I know. IMHO.
The only way to stop this from happening is to kill those who murder. It's a harsh method and common sense says not to. Not to mention We're not gods. Put the murderers in jail, that's all I can tell you. In the US there are more than twelve teenage murders every year, all we can do to stop them are put the murderers in jail
Stop ALL further immigration forthwith, and put the ones we have got into National Service type Boot Camps. If they don't like it, show them the door.





British kids should all be in HM Armed Forces National Service if they do not have a) A place in college or university or b) A Job / Apprenticeship.





No messing. They don't have this sh*t on the Continent.
Only one answer: Education, and of course, that starts in the schools. Kids need to be educated about gangs and violence and learn it is not cool or desirable to use violence or hurt others; until they have anti violence classes in all schools, this sort of murder will continue.
Discipline in schools, parental responsibility, proper sentencing for young offenders, more beat police might help somewhat...

get better police in to sort it out , they need to do a big drug bust like they have here get the scum lock up
