Realistic Death For Teenage Character In Short Story?

Hey all, have got to the end of my short story, and the basic end plot is that the a male teenager (16-17 years old) dies at the end, but I need it to be realistic, maybe something that could have possibly been avoided, so no ';heart attack';, as his death provokes the other lead character to admit finally her feelings for him.

I can edit the story to accommodate most death scenes, but I just wondered on YahooAnswers public opinion on what a realistic death ending may consist of?Realistic Death For Teenage Character In Short Story?
You could have him go into a gas station to buy something for someone who asked for it, and while he is in there, a robber could come in. The character would try and reason with the robber, but would get shot and die.Realistic Death For Teenage Character In Short Story?
a fight or argument with this girl, he then commits suicide with pills or acidentaly overdoses on drugs.

or he has a fight with a guy bullying this girl, he dies of a heavy concussion and then she realises she loves him and he loves her, some dramatic thing on his deathbed or sommat.
